God Is My Refuge.

__________

‘Tis God alone gives the repose,
For which we long and sigh;
‘Tis God alone our nature knows,
On him we should rely.

Friends may prove false the loved ones dear.
The world prove all deceit;
There’s nothing left our lives to cheer,
Of all that seemed so sweet.

The fairest flowers seem to Eight?
Before they reach full bloom.
The brightest day fades into night,
And leaves the world in gloom.

Look all around where e’er you will
The world’s so false and cold.
Our very nature seems to chill;
Despair o’erwhelms our soul.

O then it is I look away,
Whore lasting joys abound,
To heaven’s bright eternal day,
Where love and peace is found.

And in my Savior’s love so sweet
I rest my care-worn soul;
Then I can smile at vain deceit,
Though clouds above me roll.

For I have found indeed a friend,
Who never does forsakes
And those who on his grace depend,
No power of hell can shake

‘Tis there that aching void is filled
With heaven’s purest love,
‘Tis there my future hopes I build,
In that bright world above.

This world has e arms, I don’t deny,
It can the soul allure;
But each smile brings a mournful sigh,
Its pleasures ne’er endure.

God’s Covenant With His Children.

__________

I had been wondering and inquiring of God for some time to show me his plan of redemption or covenant, or how we are sanctified. Then, once as I was alone with God he showed me what I was in times past, and how he had taken me out of the mire and slums of sin and set my feet upon the everlasting rock. I so loathed myself and hated my life that I became as though I would melt in God’s presence. I could only cry. Oh God, who am I that thou ever hadst compassion upon me? Why didst thou not choose to save others not so vile, not so deep in bondage, not grieving thee so much. As I felt the presence of the Almighty I cried as though I would die, being pressed to the ground before him. Then God asked. How are you redeemed or sanctified from sin? How are God’s children purified? I said, Lord do show me all that thou hast done. And then he pictured it to me. Six things so plain that I could but exclaim, what hast thou NOT done. And the joy that filled my soul was unspeakable. All things are ours if we give our all to him. And, It is the will of God even your sanctification. — 1 Thess. 4:3.

The following six things were revealed;

Sanctified by the FATHER. Jude 1; Ex. 31:13; Eph. 4:6; and 1 Thess. 5:23. Jesus said, Fear not, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.

By the SON, Heb. 2:11; Tit. 2:14; Heb. 10:10; 2 Cor. 1:2.

By the HOLY GHOST. Eph. 4:30; Rom. 15:16; Jno. 14:17.

By the WORD. Jno. 17:17; Eph. 5: 26; Heb. 4:12.

By the BLOOD. Heb. 9:13, 14, and 10:19; Heb. 13:12.

By FAITH — also a gift. Eph. 2:8; Acts 15:8, 9; Gal. 3:14; Acts 26:18.

These six are all required in one accord to redeem fallen man to the state of perfection and purity. Dear reader, have you noticed that all unbroken snow-crystals that fall from the sky are either six or three parted? Those beautiful snow-stars! Now six is not a complete number, but God has created something which once was in his own likeness with this he wants to complete the number. The devil deceived man and does it still, as men do not see their greatest enemy is self within. O the bondage of sin! All heaven is concerned to to redeem God’s poor children.

Dear reader, this covenant is offered of God to you, if you are born again. Can you afford to put your little all on the golden altar (Christ) for heaven’s all? Placing everything near and dear to you, your will, etc. All this of yourself completes the number seven and binds God to his promise. See Rom. 12:1, 2; 1 Jno. 3:2, 3. Oh glory to God! It is so blessed to have the witness in the soul and a perfect love that casts out all fear. None like the spiritually poor, burdened, laboring, shackled man can realize what it means to be sold under sin. Old Adam nature with all manner of selfishness, pride, and envy, brings with it all kinds of trouble and disease.

People say it is impossible to live free from sin; but with God all things are possible if you have all consecrated. This yourself completes the seven colors of the rainbow of promise, no more sin nor death because of sin. He that believeth on me shall NEVER DIE. WHOSO eateth my flesh and drinketh my blood hath eternal life and I will raise him up at the last day. He that eateth my flesh and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me and I in him. Jno. 6:54, 56. In him is no sin nor bondage. So now, instead of crying O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death. — Rom. 7:24. We can turn about and shout, Who can separate us from all the fullness of God? And ye are complete in him which the head of all principality and power. — Col. 2:9, 10. And with the crown of glory exclaim. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ; shall tribulations, or distress, or persecutions, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. — Rom. 8:35-37.

Immediately after the snow crystal of all the powers of the firmament by which a soul is sanctified, then he revealed the ark of the covenant thus, God the Father dwells between the cherubim. Ex. 25:22, and 1 Sam. 4:4. And the cherubim are the two witnesses by which we know when the work of redemption is done. These two are the word of God and the Holy Ghost or Spirit of truth. Rev. 11:3, 4. God’s two witnesses. And by the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established — Matt. 18:16. These cherubim bow before God looking on the mercy seat, where a sanctified soul rests under the shadow of the Almighty. Psa. 1:91. After he has presented his body a living sacrifice placing it by faith on the golden altar of the holiest place (Jesus). This he calls the stone upon which we must fall and be broken or he will fall on us and grind us to powder. Matt. 21:44. So by faith in the blood of the everlasting covenant we rest on the mercy seat. See Heb. 4:7-13.

The ARK is JESUS. Paul says, Your life is hid with Christ in God. — Col. 3:3. The ark contained the tables of the law. Christ is the fulfilling and end of the law. — Matt. 5:6, 17. Luke 16:16. The ark also had the budded rod of Aaron the high priest which also was a proof of God’s choice to the priesthood. But Jesus was of the tribe of Judah of which Moses spake nothing concerning the priesthood. At one time the ark was taken from Israel on account of their sins, and those of Eli’s sons, priests of the tribe of Levi; and was carried into Philistia. Now through the tribe of Judah it was brought into Jerusalem again, via. David. — 2 Sam. 6. And it was finally set in Solomon’s temple. Well Jesus also is a son of David the Lion of the tribe of Judah and a greater master builder than Solomon, who has set up a spiritual sanctuary (his church) to offer up spiritual sacrifices, i. e; it is set up in Zion or church of God, pillar and ground of the truth. Christ is the real Ark of the Covenant to save to the uttermost whosoever will. Praise God that WHOSOEVER has reached down to me also. That wooden ark was only the shadow of the real Ark we have in Jesus; so we have no use for the shadow any more since the real is come.

For more about the budded rod, see Heb. 7 chapter. We never could get perfection by the Levitical priesthood of the tribe of Levi, of Abraham because the law made no man perfect; nor did the blood of bulls and goats, but by the priesthood of Christ and his blood the Lamb without blemish of the tribe of Judah after the order of Melchiseded who was a greater than Abraham because he blessed Abraham and received tithes from him. Never was a Levite sworn to be a priest, but Jesus was sworn to be a priest forever, ver. 21. Levites offered, daily and yearly continually because nothing was perfected thereby but Christ has by one ofering perfected forever them that are sanctified. — Heb. 10:14.

Now the ark also contained the pot of manna of the first that fell — a type of the sweet first love that a new born child of God receives — in the wilderness. This had to be gathered daily; so also Jesus taught his disciples in a justified state to pray for their daily bread which comes from heaven — not the natural bread. Jesus said, Take no thought for your life what ye shall eat. Sin cannot enter the ark of God’s covenant nor upon the mercy seat, but all is placed upon the golden altar, and the price of redemption is paid by Jesus’ blood and the perfecting grace received.

So also this daily picking of manna ceased when Israel came to the land of corn and wine with its rivers of milk and honey (holy land,) so in a sanctified state there is no more remembrance of sin. — Heb. 10:16-21. But we get the hidden manna as overcomers. — Rev. 2:17. God says, only, “Open your mouth wide and I will fill it.” He gives rivers of milk and honey, i. e., peace and love, and the fruits of our hands is the corn and wine; and God has sworn that our enemies shall not rob us of these any more. — Isa. 62:6-9. We shall pray without ceasing. And Rom. 8:26. Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities, for we know not what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

Now to get this hidden manna we must be overcomers. — Rev. 2:17. And that in this world having Satan bruised under our feet, for if we are overcome by sin, then we are the servant of sin, as Jesus said. Now it is only the overcomer who shall receive a crown if he overcome to the end. By faith all the powers of God are for us, and who is against us? The devil with all his hosts and property cannot stand before us, if we have all given up to God, and let the Lord only do the work and shining in us.

Trust and obey; this brought down the walls of Jericho. Hallelujah! And after we have suffered the first death, i. e., the death of the old Adam or man of sin then we rest on the mercy seat of the ark as David so beautifully puts it. — Psa. 91. Because we are all given up to God our labor with the old nature is ended and peace declared; for nothing impure can be there. Glory to God! Col. 3:1. If then ye be risen with Christ seek those things which are above where Christ sitteth at the right hand of God. Set your affections on things above and not on things of the earth, for ye are dead and your life is HID WITH CHRIST IN GOD. For our conversation is in heaven. Phil. 3:20. Not in crops and business.

Now a very great host of professors and preachers say we cannot live in this world without committing sin, and they also uphold the purgatory doctrine of the Catholics, i.e. we must be purified at or after natural death. But their wind of doctrine has no foundation, because Jesus said “As a tree falleth so shall it lie,” and he had to come into man’s flesh to do a work that must be done in this world, and only in this, world could it be done; and He therefore must suffer in the flesh and shed his blood to redeem many from the bondage of sin-old nature, to the purity that Adam had in God’s own likeness. Christ does a perfect work by his blood. Did he lie when he said, It is finished? And thou shalt call his name Jesus, for he shall redeem his people from their sins.

John 14:16, 17, And I will pray the Father and he shall give you another Comforter that he may abide with you forever, even the spirit of truth whom the WORLD CANNOT RECEIVE because it SEETH HIM NOT, NEITHER KNOWETH HIM, but ye know him for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. Then in prayer for a 2d work, i.e. sanctification, John 17:16, They are not of the world even as I am not of the world. Verse 17, Sanctify them through thy truth, thy word is truth. v. 15, Keep them from the evil. And shall be in you – 14 chap. V. 17, as above. He that is in you is greater than he that is in the world — 1 John 4:4. The second work of grace fighters deny also that Christ has come into men’s bodies and call such that confess this — fanatics, false prophets, mormons, etc. The devil holds up every kind of black banner between God’s saints and the world; of course he will fight for his own, knowing his time is short. These are indeed the perilous times spoken of by the apostle and Jesus — Matt. 24:24; 2 Tim. 3:1-8. And professing truth fighter we have something for you, 2 Jno. 9 — Whosoever transgresseth and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine, he hath both the Father and the Son. V. 10 — If there come any unto you and bring not this doctrine (i.e. of indwelling trinity) receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed, for he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds. To know why this warning is given, see v.7, For many deceivers are entered into the world who confess not that Jesus is come into the flesh; this is a deceiver and an antichrist. It says confess, not profess. We know Jesus by his words, walk, and daily conversation. If the poor deluded guides of the sects could wash each other’s feet they certainly could not quarrel and lawsuit at the same time, for you cannot serve two masters. A man that pretends to work for God, but is working in any way for his own or another man’s selfish interests, is a deceiver. Jesus prayed for the sanctification of all who believe on the gospel. Jno. 17:20. The Holy Ghost makes God’s children one; if God puts a man into his ark he is forever spoiled for to be a sectarian. V. 21, That they all may be one, as thou Father art in me and I in thee, that they also may be one in us. This is like an iron in the fire and fire in the iron, and when it is brought to a white heat, [i. e. seven colors of rainbow of promise as white light has] then you do not see the iron any more but the seven colors in one beam of whiteness. Now when two or more such irons come together it is easy to make a weld of perfect unity. All that God’s firmament of power offers is for the redemption of God’s little ones through sanctification of the old nature; this means to cut loose all bonds of the devil. All that Heaven offers is for you my brother. Fear not little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom. Yet this covenant is not binding in any one case unless a child of God gives himself all up to it, and thereby completing the number seven, then only is God bound by his oath, and he cannot lie, also it is his good pleasure to give the kingdom. Whosoever will; let him come. Well says the second work of grace fighter, God can, and is able to do it all in one work, [i. e. at justification]. To such God says, Ye are a stiffnecked, stubborn people, ye shall die in the wilderness if you don’t give up to God. I tell you he cannot do it in one work any more than he can lie, because he made man tree to do and choose as he pleases, obey or disobey; life or death. God had power enough to pick up all Israel and cast them into the holy land, but he knew better, and to see why, read Deut. 8. How shall we escape if we neglect so great salvation?

Dear laboring child of God, won’t you give up and let God put you into the center of his snow crystal of love and purity? Then all the powers of God are in your favor. Are you worthy? All power in heaven and earth are given unto me and lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. — Matt. 28:18-20. In the pool of Bethesda all manner of diseases were healed when God’s angel had stirred the water. — Jno. 5:2-4. By faith we enter into God’s great pool that healeth all thy diseases. — Ps. 103:3. And this is the confidence that we have in him, that if we ask anything according to his will, he heareth us, and if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him. — 1 Jno. 5:14, 15,

Dear Saints: I am praising God for a real Bible salvation that cleanses from all sin and sanctifies me wholly. I am so glad that he that dwells in us is greater than he that is in the world. If we love the world the love of the Father is not in us, I do praise God for his perfect love that I have, and this world has no charms for me. I am all the Lord’s, resting and trusting in all the will of God. He keeps me sweetly saved and healed.

Your sister in the Lord,

Dear Saints: I was saved two years ago. I was saved from tobacco, whisky, and foolish talk, and every thing contrary to the Father’s will. I have faith in God to believe every thing He has spoken, and he has promised to go with us to the end of the world. This is my first writing. I want to keep humble and do the work that God giveth me to do. I am not tired of the way. Pray for me.

Dear Saints: Bro. Jno. A. Wilson, who was burned at the powder mills, Feb. 1st, requests that I should write his testimony. He says that while the flames rolled clear to the ceiling from my clothing and body, I looked to God and realized that I was ready and saved, praise the Lord. I then thought what would become of my poor wife, and then it came to me that the Lord would provide. My clothes being full of powder, I had very little hopes of seeing her again, but the dear Lord said, Not so, thou shalt, and so I live. All things work together for the good of those that love the Lord. By order from those who had rule over me I had a a doctor to dress the burns, but have taken very little medicine. My faith is strong in God. I believe the hand of God is in it and is only a warning for the other laborers in the mill, to be more careful and to be ready. I am suffering very much, in great pain and very sore, being burned almost all over. Let all the saints pray that I may just get some ease, and recover. Pray that I may have patience to endure all things for Jesus’ sake. Amen.

Your saved brother,

Jno. A. Wilson.

Water Valley, Miss., Feb. 8, 1893.

E. E. Byrum,

Grand Junction, Mich.

Dear Sir: I have been confined to my bed thirteen years with paralysis, and have tried all worldly means for relief without receiving any benefit. I believe in the Bible, but have not had the prayer of faith offered for healing, as it is not practiced here. I have not known of any of that faith until I read your book on “DIVINE HEALING.’’

I am at peace with God and with all mankind and believe in the prayer of faith. Will you pray for me that I may be healed. I am a man fifty years of age and a member of the Methodist church. I would like to read a copy of the GOSPEL TRUMPET. Matt. 18:19, 20.

I am very sincerely yours,

C. W. Shipp.

NOTE.

Dear Bro. the Lord can heal you, and in answer to the prayers of his children will do so, if you will only believe, and act upon that belief. Consecrate yourself fully to the Lord, and let his name be glorified in and through you in any way he may see fit to use you. Read Jno 15:7; 1 Jno. 3:22; 1 Jno. 5:14, 15.

The Lord wants you to be joined to him alone, instead of being yoked up in sectism with those unbelieving Methodists of whom you mention, who you say never practice offering the prayer of faith. The word of God tells us, 2 Cor. 6:14 — “Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers.’’ But further says, “Wherefore come out from among them and be ye separate, saith the Lord.”

Furthermore, we feel that it is not to the glory of God for you to remain in your bed any longer. Put your case fully in the hands of the Lord, both soul and body and accept his offered favors and arise from your bed in the name of Jesus. The Lord has lost none of his power since he healed the woman who was bowed down with her afflictions for many years; and the lame man whom Peter and John met at the gate of the temple, who had never walked, but by faith was made whole. Believe and thou too shalt be made whole.

Let all the children of God pray for the healing of this man.

EDITORIAL NOTES.

__________

Sister Libbie Sweetland, of Decatur, Mich., who is blind, desires a home among some of the saints. Anyone Reeling moved of the Lord to furnish her a home can write to her at Decatur, Mich.

__________

The meeting is still in progress at the camp ground near here, and will probably last a week or more yet. Quite a, number of souls have already seen saved. Bro. Michels and others are being much used of the Lord in presenting the truths of the gospel.

__________

Of late we are receiving quite a number of testimonies, poorly written with pencil, for which cause we are obliged to lay them aside. Manuscript sent in for publication should be plainly written with pen and ink, as pencil writing so often becomes defaced. Both sides of the paper may be written upon if the paper is not too thin.

__________

Bro. Schell expects to soon have the manuscript ready for the publication of his book on the BIBLICAL TRACE OF THE CHURCH. We believe this will be a very valuable work and should have a wide circulation. He writes that it will probably contain 200 pages or more. Cloth, 75cts; paper cover, 30cts. He desires to have it ready to send out by the time of the June camp meeting if possible. Orders taken now.

__________

We are very thankful unto the Lord, for his blessings up on the work here and the school, at the camp ground. Quite a number of school books have been sent, also an unabridged dictionary. These with other things have been kindly donated to aid in the school work. A good library can soon be furnished, for a reading room, at a small expense, if any one has good books to donate for such purposes. But very little provision for the table has been sent in yet. Wheat, flour, potatoes, fruit, or any thing the Lord may direct you to send, may be used to his glory. Some have kindly contributed of their means to help along the work. The Lord is blessing the labors of Bro. Orr, in teaching the children, some of whom have already given their hearts the Lord. There are a number of applications being made, to attend the school, insomuch that a larger building will have to be erected in order to provide for them.

God bless you all. Amen. We got here and began meeting the 3d at night. Interest good. This is a new field and the people seem to be hungry for the truth. Dear Bro. Jas. Boothe was at the meetings in Miss. last fall and got new light and came home to this part of La., where he has many friends and has scattered the news. Other calls are coming in from the surrounding country. If the hearts of the people receive the truth as their heads, surely they will be a happy people. Let all the saints pray earnestly for the work in Louisiana and especially for dear Bro. Bradley’s health and that we may all be well and qualified for this great and glorious work.

Your brethren in the battle for Jesus, Amen.

Dear Saints: This morning finds us saved and praising God for salvation that keeps us. Hallelujah! We left East Jordan Jan. 28, and came to this place and began meeting in the name of the Lord. They continued until last evening. The people of this place will not come out to hear the gospel. We feel that time is too precious to stay where they do not want to hear the truth. We expect to go from here to Bro. Koffman’s neighborhood in Antrim Co. and hold a few meetings, the Lord willing. Then we are ready to go just where ever the Lord leads. We expect to go south from Bro. Koffman’s and any one desiring meeting and wishing us to come, address us at East Jordan, Charlevoix Co., Mich.

Dear Saints: God bless you all. Amen. We are well and fully saved in Jesus, and kept with perfect victory in our souls over all the power of the adversary, for which we are very thankful to our dear heavenly Father. Let eternal glory be unto his name forever! We arrived at this place last night; expect to begin meeting here to-night in the name of the Lord, to continue as long as he walls. We feel that the work is much needed here. Things seem to be rather in a confused condition. Pray that God may use us and save many souls. The people of Antwerp, O. where we last reported from would not come out to hear the truth. Our address until further notice is Ridgeville Corners, Henry Co., O. We were accompanied to this place by Bro. J. N. Worden and wife, who expect to labor with us in these meetings.

After the meeting at Hopkins Station we came to the Page school house a few miles distant, and began a series of meetings which lasted almost three weeks. About thirty-seven consecrations were made, and the building was incapable of holding all the people. Sled loads of precious souls, we were told, were obliged to return home, who could not gain an entrance. Bro. Byrum in company with Bro June, Bro. DeDerer, and little Roy our precious boy, came to visit the meeting on Saturday evening, and remained with us over Sabbath. They were used to God’s glory in presenting the truth, and our souls feasted. The meeting closed on the following Thursday, with a glorious ordinance meeting. We are now helping hold a series of meetings on the camp ground near Grand Junction and the Lord is moving souls to forsake their sinful ways and turn to the ways of righteousness.

Yours in Christ,

Dearly Beloved Saints of the Most High God, Greeting: We are glad to report the meeting in Tee-garden was a success in doing much good and in spreading the truth abroad. Much prejudice was removed and the church edified. On Sunday evening, 5th inst., we commemorated the death and suffering of our Savior by washing the saints’ feet and the breaking of bread. Oh it was a glorious feast to our souls. Just before taking part in the ordinances two dear souls came to the altar, one for pardon, the other for sanctification. They received the desire of their hearts. Hallelujah! About twenty of the dear saints rejoiced in this grand feast. The weather was somewhat inclement or many more of the saints would have been out to the feast. On last evening we moved to Walkerton where we opened up the truth in an Advent meeting house to an interesting congregation of hearers. The Lord willing we will hold the fort for some time in this place. Dear saints of God. pray much for the success of this meeting. Any desiring our service car. address us at Walkerton. Ind.

Yours in the fellowship of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost,

Dear Saints: God bless you all. I want to say to the glory of God that I am saved with an everlasting salvation. I am so glad that God has brought me out of sin and sectism and placed me in the one fold. I do praise God for this evening light. Now dear saints of God, I do feel that God is calling me into his vineyard. I have a large family, and no home of my own. I have always farmed, on rented farms. Now if any brother or sister has a farm that you would like to rent, my boys are large enough to work on a farm, and if I could get them on a place where they could have a home, I could work on the farm part of the time the Lord willing, and part of the time go forth to help rescue perishing, souls. I have been out in the evening light now about five years; have been preaching what I could. God has saved some souls where we have held meetings. Now I have always worked hard with my hands and am willing to work if it is the Lords will. But there are so many calls, and so few laborers, in the vineyard, and it seems God’s hand is upon me, and he says, Go preach the gospel to every creature; and I feel that I ought to go and do what I can.

Dear Saints: We closed meeting five miles southeast of Arkansas City, Sunday 5th, with a glorious victory. We preached three times on Sunday and baptized, and praise the Lord, we did not feel the least tired. There were about three hundred people present Sunday night. We left many precious souls under conviction, and there is a precious church now in this place. There are many calls for laborers alt over this country. We expect to return to this country next summer. Lord willing. We bade

the saints farewell and came to Bro. Gate’s Monday, and God did let the holy fire come down on us, a meeting: that we never will forget. God bless Bro. Gates and family for all their kindness. The entire family is given up to God. Oh glory to God! We left Bro. Gates and came on to Akron, and held meeting last night. God give glorious victory. Several poor sinners were gloriously converted and the shouts of victory went up until twelve o’clock. Oh how my soul did rejoice to see the dear friends converted that we labored with here three years ago. All of them came through shouting glory to God. The little church here is getting stronger. Praise God for complete victor). We return home from here soon.

Dear Readers of the Trumpet: We greet you once more with the holy fire burning in souls. Since our last letter several have been saved and sanctified and the meeting is still going on. Bro. Jacobson and company arrived here this week. The Lord is keeping us busy here, but our soul is stirred for the work in the south. The ice has gone out of the rivers and I hear of several boats for sale, but we lack several hundred dollars before we can start. Several said that they could put one or two hundred dollars in the boat if they could go along. The Lord himself musters the host. He only wants consecrated workers and consecrated means. We know enough about the work that it will not be a pleasure excursion trip, but one of labor and sacrifice. Many have spoken of going with us as workers, but up to this date we do not know who will go. We trust the time will not be long before we will start. Those sending money will still address it to the Trumpet office. Anything less than one dollar send in postage stamps. A brother and sister saved at this meeting start next week to Washington. They wish Bro. Chas. Forker to correspond with them and arrange with them about meetings. They are both good singers and I believe they will be much used of the Lord in that country. Their address is Bro. H. M. Riggle. New Whatcome, Wash. Oh who will help to save the lost?

Dear Brethren: The meeting at; El Dorado was a grand victory for God. There was much spurious holiness there, when we went there, but when the fan of God’s word was let on them, the greater part went out with the chaff and straw. But we found some pure wheat among the great pile of rubbish. Praise the Lord that they were willing to accept the truth and walk in the light. Hallelujah! From there we went four miles east to Prospect school house and commenced meeting in the name of the Lord Jesus. But the weather being very cold and the holidays being so near, we closed meeting; and Bro. Katchel and Bro. Mike went to Hutchinson, Kan. and held a meeting, when circumstances made it necessary to close and go back. I got back to Prospect school house Jan. 20 and found them engaged in meeting, with victory in their souls. Several accepted the truth, but are not willing to walk in the light. We commenced meeting here last Monday night, and there is quite an interest manifested here. Good attention and good order. Two raised their hands for prayer last night. This is a new place; no saints here except Bro. Hunter’s family, with whom we are staying. We believe and have the witness that the Lord will do a work here. Dear saints, we ask your prayers for the work here in the west, and for us, that we may be filled with the mighty power of God continually. Circumstances will make it necessary for us to go home by March 1st. We expect to commence tabernacle work as soon as possible. Saints wanting meeting will please address us at Table Rock, Neb.

Dear Saints of God: Since our last report the saints at this place have been laboring together with the Lord in a protracted meeting which began Dec. 28. and closed Jan. 29 with a precious ordinance meeting. We heard the voice of Jesus telling us to begin a meeting, and accordingly we began in his name without a preacher and not knowing whether the Lord would send us one or not. When the meeting had continued some over a week we were rejoiced at the coming of Bro. A. A. Kinzie, but after a short stay of three nights he was obliged to take his departure. Then the question was, Shall we close or continue? Realizing that all power belongs to God, we resolved to continue until God said it was enough. So we kept working on, getting closer and closer to God until we could all hear his voice, and when we would meet in Jesus’ name there would be perfect harmony among the saints, God having showed us beforehand just how to work to defeat the enemy. Oh ’tis wonderful how God does work through his children when they keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. The result was: six souls saved. All have gone on to perfection but two, and we trust they soon will. Others who had rejected the truth and bitterly opposed the saints were made to acknowledge it was the truth, and some requested our prayers and expressed a determination to walk in the light. Others sat in wonder and astonishment as God displayed his matchless power among his saints. And we were much strengthened and more established than ever before. The meeting has closed, but we trust the good work may go on. To God be all the glory. Remember us in your prayers.

Your sister, saved and sanctified,

To All The Dear Trumpet Readerd, Greeting: When we last wrote you we had just closed a meeting at Henderson, Pa. From there we went to Wesley and helped Bro. Jacobson and Co. in a meeting. We were there about a week. The Lord wonderfully blessed our souls. The meeting was a grand victory for the Lord. January 25th we left there for St. Petersburg, Pa. We found the little church there in a good condition. Though few in number, yet they had the ring of heaven and the sweetness of Jesus. The meeting was a real feast to our souls. Glory to God! There were nine consecrations during the meeting, which we believe, all received the desire of their hearts. Among the number was a young man from Franklin, Pa. who was gloriously delivered out of Babylon and we believe wholly sanctified. We were made to rejoice with Sister Shoup on the account of her victory and deliverance out of the hands of the devil. May God help the dear ones at St. Petersburg to be encouraged to press on and battle for the Lord, until he says, it is enough. We find one occasionally that has withdrawn from the congregation of the saints, claiming to be all right themselves but finding fault with every one else; refusing to assemble with the saints, also rejecting the admonition of those who come unto them. They fulfill the scripture in 1 John 2:19. — They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us. We expected to go from here to Fern, Pa., but we received word that our dear Mother Wickersham was very sick, not expected to live, and she greatly desired that we should come home if we wished to see her before she departed this life. So under these things we consented to go. feeling that the Lord would not be displeased with us. We took leave for home Feb. 6 and arrived the 7th. Found the children, all well and hearty, and mother getting better.

Your brother and sister saved in Jesus,

Dear Saints of God: I believe it would be to the glory of God to let you know how we are getting along at Wichita, Kan. Many of you know what a glorious camp meeting we had last September, and how the saints and ministers of God came from far and near, and how our God took the crookedness out of professors and some preachers. And yet we did not get in the city of Wichita what we hoped for, but some were gloriously saved by the power of God and are standing straight for God. We have had much to contend against from wolves in sheep’s clothing, trying to divide the little flock. But glory be to God! through his grace and the assistance of the brethren, we have been able to stand against the wiles of the enemy, with great joy in our hearts. Glory be to God! Through faith in Christ, our Savior, we have complete victory. Before we commenced to write about holding the camp meeting, wife and I were standing alone for holiness, but in the meantime one of our sons got converted and gloriously saved; then two families, Sister Grove and son, and daughter, and Sister Brown moved into this city before the camp meeting commenced. We rejoice that God has a true church that can be depended on. Several have moved to other points and the fire has been scattered in many places, and our God is marching on to victory. Some three weeks ago Bro’s Jas. Willis, from Neb., and W. Swinburn of Denver, Col., stopped with us and then went to Arkansas City and then some live miles west to hold a meeting in the neighborhood of Bro. Jno. Annis; one of the darkest places in the land on the account of sect division and neighborhood broils. After the meeting had continued some days the power of darkness was broken and the whole country was stirred and sinners began to cry for mercy. So Bro. Willis wrote me an urgent request to come to him. So I came here a week ago and God is with us in mighty power. A goodly number have been converted and some have been sanctified, and others have consecrated for sanctification, so the work is moving on with good interest. All glory be to God! Amen.

Yours saved in Jesus,

Dearly Beloved Brethren: May great peace, love and joy be upon you all. Amen. Thank God, we are all well and redeemed, filled with holy zeal and fire for God, with glorious victory along our line of march in Jehovah’s name. Praise the Lord for his great goodness to the children of men. From Henderson with our company we went and commenced meeting at Mechanicsville the 11th ult., which lasted eighteen days and closed with a glorious sweeping victory for the cause of God. The Lord met with us in mighty power and perfect victory from first to last. The meeting was indeed a precious feast of fat things. A very general and good impression was left upon the people. One was saved and on the Sabbath five consecrated for and obtained the experience of entire sanctification. The second week of the meeting our dearly beloved Bro. and Sister Wickersham came over and assisted us in the work, whom the Lord also used much to his glory. In all there were about nine consecrations. The ordinance service was truly a glorious one, in which twenty- two participated. Saints from other points attended the meeting. May the Lord richly reward them for their kindness to the Lord’s workers in supplying all our needs and so kindly caring for all. From there we went and held two meetings at Barkeyville at the kind home of Mr. and Sister Razor. The meetings were glorious, especially the last, which was a rich Pentecostal one. At the former meeting there were several cases of healing by faith, and at these places many were deeply convicted but did not yield. O may the Lord save them. We then went to Hazzard, stoped at the kind home of our dear Brother and Sister Lean for a week’s rest. Held four meetings with a general, good effect on the people for the cause. We found dear Bro. Lean’s family quite afflicted with the diphtheria, but the good Lord rebuked and swept away the disease, and he also kept us from taking it. O praise his mighty power and excellent care! We are now helping dear Bro. Clayton in a meeting being held in the W. M. house of worship, in the Shellhammer neighborhood, about five miles from Cochran’s Mills. Will stay as long as the Lord wills. From here we go to Blanco, thence to Dawson, Pa. about Feb. 28. Any one in Eastern and Southern Pa., in N. J. or Md. wishing gospel services and wishing us to come to you and labor with you, please communicate with us in haste, and the Lord willing we will try and come. Love to all. Please pray for us and the work of the Lord here. Address us at St. Petersburg, Pa. at any time.

Dear Saints: I am truly glad I can report victory in my soul this morning, that I am all given up to the Lord to do his will in all things. Truly as never before I do realize the time is short. Let all be sure all is clear between them and God, who is shortly coming with sudden destruction to the wicked and those that obey not God. Let us all have the full assurance in our soul that all is right between us and God. Well I do praise God for salvation of my soul. I do feel as though God wanted me to warn souls of the danger they are in. Pray for me that I may do just what God wants of me at all times. I warn all of God’s children not to look on the things of this world. Use all to the glory of God and poor lost souls. Don’t heap treasures together, for in one moment God can sweep them out of existence, and we must surely give account of all things done here below. It sends a thrill of sorrow through my soul when I think of poor lost souls. May we do all we can, for the time is short. Pray that God may use me to his glory in all things, that I may be found ready for his coming.

HEALTH DEPARTMENT.

__________

TOBACCO AS AN EVIL.

_____

THAT the use of tobacco is an evil, and a growing evil, every intelligent person must admit after having studied the subject from a physiological standpoint

There are many reasons and excuses given by people who use it, in order to justify themselves in the use. But when the evil effects are fully known there is no room for justification in the matter.

In the first place we will notice that it is a very filthy practice, which few people have the audacity to deny. And the one who is in the habit of chewing not only chews what should be food for the worms, but also makes his mouth a cess-pool of filth which continually sends forth a stench most offensive to those who are forced to be in his presence,. The same stench is left upon his clothes, along his path, at home of where ever he may chance to be It should be considered an awful disgrace to impose upon society by compelling them to endure such, just for the sake of gratifying the lusts of an abnormal and perverted appetite. There are those who try to use it in a gentlemanly way, but even the most tidy, carry the same offensive stench with them, while on the other hand, those who are more untidy and careless, have their mouth, clothes, and person besmeared, and the floors spattered and stained.

The smoker in one sense is less filthy, and in other ways is more so, by way of filling God’s pure air with the offensive smoke, making it very disagreeable for those who are not addicted to the habit.

But now notice another feature of tobacco and it use. It is a weed which contains much Nicotine, which is a deadly poison. If extracted and swallowed, the nicotine in a pound of tobacco would be sufficient to cause instant death to a number of persons. In preparing tobacco for chewing and smoking, this poison is left in it, and while the tobacco is not taken into the stomach by swallowing the whole of it, the strength of the same is brought in contact with the secretive organs through the action of the salivary glands. Through the process of the unnecessary chewing, an undue amount of saliva is demanded, which is mostly spewed out of the mouth, and because of this excessive waste, the digestive organs are robbed, not leaving a sufficient amount of saliva to properly digest the food.

Not only does it prevent the proper assimilation of the food, but much of the juice, or poisonous strength of the tobacco being taken into the stomach, through the process of digestion enters the blood, and thus the poison is forced upon the whole system. The digestive organs become inflamed, and inactive to a certain extent, and disease is sure to follow, among which Dyspepsia is one of the foremost to fake up its abode. The organs which filter and purity the blood also become diseased. The liver becomes torpid, and cannot perform its proper function. Heart-burn, palpitation of the heart, etc. are only other forms of disease brought on by the same cause.

The throat and organs of speech become affected, and sometimes completely ruined because of the effects of smoking and chewing. Cancer of the throat, mouth, nose, and stomach, is frequently caused by excessive smoking.

Tobacco is a stimulant, and also has an irritating effect upon the system, affecting the nerves often to such an extent as to bring on a chronic nerve disease, and that with the torpidity of the liver, affects the brain, brings on a stupor, and nervous excitement rendering the mind incapable of being used to the full extent of a healthy brain.

It is seldom that the tobacco user has the power within himself to lay aside tobacco and quit its use. His appetite has become perverted, and abnormal, and an irresistable craving has taken him captive and he is made a slave to his appetite through the use of this vile weed.

In order to find out to what extent a person has become enslaved, he has only to try to quit its use for a short time and the chains of bondage will soon be felt, by way of an almost irresistable longing desire for a new supply to gratify the same. The gnawing and craving of the stomach in many cases become so great that the poor enslaved victim must resort to the habit again, or become wild or frantic, by a power which controls his will, making him realize that he is a slave indeed.

This uncontrollable desire even in the first stages too often leads its victim to tamper with other stimulants, and is thus easily brought under the influence, and in the clutches of the morphine, opium, or some other dangerous stimulant or narcotic, and has a natural tendency to lead one to love what they consider “soft drinks,” which is only another stepping stone to the drunkard’s grave.

There is yet another feature to be noticed in considering this subject, and that is the benefits derived, and also the expense attached thereto. Tobacco is not an article of food, or people would eat it, but we find that it is an injury to the digestive organs, and hinders the digestion of what good wholesome food is taken into the stomach.

About the only benefit derived front its habitual use is to satisfy the irresistable craving brought about by the habit. It does not satisfy hunger, because it is most craved immediately after a good wholesome meal.

We hear the words of the prophet ringing forth, “Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread?” Some consider the expense a very trivial matter, but when the daily expense is summed up at the close of the year, or for fifty years’ use it amounts to quite a fortune, even though but few cents were, spent daily. This amount saved and properly invested would furnish a pleasant home with an abundance of the necessaries of life, a library of good books and a clear brain and mind to enjoy such. There would also be quite an amount left for moral and religious institutions, and for those who are in need.

To further prove the poisonous effect of tobacco, one has only to observe the nauseous condition of a person after having taken his first chew, or smoked his first cigar. So great is the effect of this nicotine poison as it is forced into the system, that most of the tobacco users when beginning its use are made very sick, some of whom are made deathly sick.

Under such circumstances, knowing these things to be true, what manner of man would insist upon using the vile stuff? What manner of excuse would he give in favor of its use? Would a real, true gentleman use it? Shame on the professing Christain who has the audacity to practice or encourage the filthy habit! The word of God condemns it and says, “Cleanse yourselves from all filthiness of the flesh.” 2 Cor. 7:1. Filth does not belong to gentlemanly principles and practices, neither is it an element of Christianity.

Few people have the power to rid themselves of the habit, but He who can set the soul free from the bondage of sin, can also instantly break the chains of this habit and purge the system of the poisonous effects, take away every longing desire for the same, and set the catpive free.

E. E. Byrum.

DAMNABLE HERESIES.

2 Pet. 2:1-3.

_____

IN a tract bearing the above title written by one Geo. H. Cramer he very forcibly proves the truth of the apostle Peter’s prophecy. Speaking of water baptism for the remission of sins he says, “I admit this order to the Jews under the first key given to Peter, but emphatically deny that it was the divine order under the second key at the house of Cornelius given to the Gentiles.” Again he says: “There was at least two keys given to Peter which was the authority to preach the two first gospel sermons to each of these two classes,” Refering to Matt. 16:19 as proof. Again he says: “The gospel Paul preached to the Gentiles was different from the gospel Peter preached to the Jews.” “And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. — Mark 16:15. And Jesus went about all Galilee teaching in their synagogues and preaching the gospel of the kingdom. — Matt. 4:23. If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel which ye have heard and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven, whereof I Paul am made a minister. — Col. 1:23. Paul a servant of Jesus Christ called to be an apostle separated unto the gospel of God which he had promised afore by his prophets in the holy scriptures. — Rom. 1:1, 2. And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation and kindred, and tounge and people. — Rev. 14:6. And if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine: according to the glorious gospel of the blessed God which was committed to my trust. — 1 Tim. 1:9-11. For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law, and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law in the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel. — Rom. 2:12-16. We see by the above scriptures that but one gospel is mentioned. Only one gospel was promised in the writings of the prophets. If then the Jews and Gentiles were under different gospels, one of them was a gospel which God had never premised. But the word says, Surely the Lord. God will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets. — Amos 3:7. Christ commanded the apostles to preach but one gospel, and that was to be preached to every creature, which included both Jews and Gentiles. The angel of Rev. 14:6 had but one gospel which was to be preached to “every nation and kindred and tongue and people.” By Col. 1:23 we see that Paul was made a minister of that one gospel which was the standard by which both Jews and Gentiles were to be judged and by which sound doctrine was to be determined. Rom. 2:12-16. 1 Tim. 1:9-11. So if Peter preached a different gospel; men were not bound to conform to it in this life, neither would they be judged by it in the great day of judgment. He was also accursed then for Paul says: But though we or an angel from heaven preach any other gospel unto you than that we have preached unto you let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received let him be accursed. — Gal. 1:8, 9. Cramer says that Peter preached the two first sermons to the two classes. Jews and Gentiles, but we find that John the Baptist preached the gospel before Peter was chosen. — Mark 1:1-4. Aso Jesus preached the gospel before we have any record of Peter’s preaching. — Matt. 4:23.

Again he says, “Connected with the first key (for Jews only) was circumcision, water baptism, feet washing, laying on of hands for the Holy Ghost, the holy kiss, women keeping silent in the churches, and anointing with oil for the healing of the sick, which all continued till the reformation was ordered by God through revelation to the apostle Paul in 64 A. D.” Now he says these were connected with the first key to Jews only. In the final commission Christ says, “Go ye therefore and teach all nations [Jews and Gentiles] baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost.” Matt. 28:19. “Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved.” Mark 16:15, 16. This includes every one who shall hear the gospel “even to the end of the world,” and they were all to be baptized. This was water baptism, for nowhere does Christ command men to baptize with the Holy Ghost, neither does he promise them the power to do so. Only Christ can baptize with the Holy Ghost. “I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but he that cometh after me (not his apostles and ministers) is mightier than I; he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost.” Matt. 3:11; Mark 1:7, 8. Water baptism he tells us belonged to the gospel of the Jews, but we find Paul the apostle to the Gentiles commanding them to be baptized and even baptizing them himself. Acts 16:33; 19:5. Feet washing, he says, (meaning washing the saints’ feet) belonged to the first key or the Jews. But Jesus commanded them to teach all nations (including Gentiles), teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you.” Washing feet was one of the “all things” which he had commanded them. Jno. 13:14, 15. Then they were commanded to teach the Gentiles to wash the saints’ feet. Again he says, “The law of commandments contained in fleshly ordinances — without a single exception of any fleshly ceremony — was nailed to the cross and thereby abolished, but the reformation spoken of by Paul could not be formally ushered in until the law was placed before the people in 64 A. D. when he wrote the epistles to Eph., Col., and Heb. or Jews * * * I here make the assertion without fear of successful contradiction that if the twelve apostles knew that circumcision and every other Jewish ordinance was nailed to the cross and thereby abrogated or abolished they were the biggest hypocrites on earth for demanding these of the Jews and Gentiles after they knew they were done away. The plain fact to every honest Bible reader is, that none of them knew it until revealed to them by the Spirit through the apostle Paul in 64 A. D.” Behold the confusion. He tells us that water baptism, feet washing and every one of the fleshly ordinances, as he calls them, belonged to the first key or Jews only, and that Peter and the other apostles were sent with that gospel to the Jews while Paul was sent with the second gospel to the Gentiles, and that none of these things were connected with the second key. He points to 64 A. D. as the time when the reformation was formally ushered in and the Jews came out from under the ordinances. Yet he tells us that none of the apostles knew anything about the ordinances being abolished until Paul received a revelation at the time when the Jews were delivered from them, and that because of their ignorance of this they demanded these things of the Jews and Gentiles until this time. Now if both Jews and Gentiles were obliged to observe these things till 64 when all came out from under them, where were the two gospels and difference between the preaching of Paul and Peter? But it seems that Paul did not know that the ordinances were abolished even after the revelation which Cramer says he received in 64 and which was to abolish “every fleshly ordinance without a single-exception.” We find him giving instructions to Tim A. D. 65 concerning the character of those widows who were to be taken in and cared for by the church. He says, “Let not a widow be taken into the number under three score years old having been the wife of one man, well reported of for good works, if she have brought up children, if she have lodged strangers, if she have washed the saints’ feet, if she have relieved the afflicted, if she have diligently followed every good work.” 1 Tim. 5:9, 10. Paul lays this down as a rule or law by which Timothy was to decide whether a widow was fit to be taken in. Now we say in the fear of God that if a widow had refused to wash feet like those who reject the ordinances to day, Timothy as an obedient child of God must have rejected her. As Christ said to Peter, “If I wash thee not thou hast no part with me.” So washing the saints’ feet was still a positive command in 65 A. D., one year after Paul was informed by the Holy Ghost that the ordinances were abolished “without a single exception” as Cramer tells us.

He says “The gospel of uncircumcision (or Gentiles) was given to Paul while the gospel of circumcision (or Jews) was given to Peter. Hence Peter and the other apostles had no authority among the Gentiles. This any person with half sense can see.” According to this Peter was out of the order of God when he went to the house of Cornelius, although he was commanded of God to go. Acts 10:20. Cramer himself says that both keys were given to Peter and that he preached the first sermon to both classes. Yet he affirms that he did not have any authority among them. Paul was also out of order then for going among the Jews and preaching to them a gospel which was meant for Gentiles. Laying on hands to receive the Holy Ghost belonged to the first key, he says, yet we find Paul laying hands on the Ephesians. Acts 19:6. He commanded the Corinthians to greet with the holy kiss, also the Thessalonians. 1 Cor. 16:20. 2 Thess. 5:26. Again he says, “Jesus said to the twelve apostles, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not, but go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. Matt. 10:5, 6. This commission that forbade them to go to the Gentiles was never revoked in a single instance before Peter went to the house of Cornelius, eight years after pentecost. Thus we see by adding the three and a half years the apostles and the seventy preached before pentecost we have eleven years that none but the Jews enjoyed the benefits of the gospel.” This command forbidding to go to the Gentiles was early in the ministry of Christ when he sent the twelve forth. Cramer says this was never revoked till Peter went to Cornelius. After Christ was resurrected he assembled on the mount of ascension; he commanded them to go and teach all nations, saying not a word which would lead them to believe that they were still to adhere to any restriction at first given. As a further proof that they understood the command to include even those who were under the first commission they were forbidden to teach. We read that Philip went down to Samaria and preached Christ unto them. Acts 8:5. They believed and were baptized. Ver. 12. Moreover we find that when the apostles at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word they did not semi and tell Philip that he was out of the order of God in going to the Samaritans, but they sent unto them Peter and John who laid hands on them and they received the Holy Ghost. Now if the apostles did not know that the restrictions given in Matt. 10:5. were removed they were guilty of breaking a positive command of Christ. Also God was confirming their disobedience by giving the Holy Ghost to a people whom he had forbidden the disciples to preach to. This was before Peter was commanded to go to the house of Cornelius at which time Cramer says the restrictions were removed.

May the Lord help dear souls to take the straight word and escape the pits and snares of the devil, laid to destroy through the deception of false doctrine.

Your humble brother wholly given to the gospel of Christ,

ABOUT SECRETISM.

Opechee, Mich.

To the Readers of the Gospel Trumpet.

Dear Brethren — As a servant of God, I respectfully call your attention to the following FACTS in respect to Secret Societies — institutions which have obtained and are now exerting a wide and powerful influence in our churches, in all our civil institutions and on all our social relations:

I. Secret Societies strip man of his manhood.

II. They enslave men.

III. They take away from man liberty of conscience arid liberty of speech.

IV. They profane the ordinance of the oath. There is not an oath taken by Secret Societies but what involves a breach of the Third Commandment. (See also Matt. 5:33-37; Jas. 5:12; Lev. 5:45.) Hence it follows, that the oath in itself is SIN.

V. Secret Societies recognize no religion but the universal religion of nature.

VI. All societies which impose an oath or obligation of secrecy are directly opposed to the teachings of our Savior. (See Matt. 5:16; John 18:20.)

VII. They are dangerous to society.

VIII. Christ, the King of kings, the World’s Redeemer, is excluded from the Secret Lodges, etc.

IX. They are condemned by God’s Holy word, and we are warned not to join with them. (See Eph. 5:11-13; 2 Cor. 6:14-18.)

X. Secret Societies originated with the devil and must end with him.

Therefore, come out from among them. Have no fellowship with them. If you remain in any of them after reading these facts, then you sin willfully, deliberately, and presumptuously, because you sin with your eyes open.

Yours saved from Secretism,

John Bennets-Bailey.
